How do you do 144MPH with a stock WR250R? (10/24/2009)
....Well....You start by getting access to one of these in San Diego...

....and then you find a guy like this.....

...you'll also need access to a good Autopilot system...

Because you'll be flying for a couple hours in a straight line over the desert....

....and probably crossing over the Colorado river....

...and becauseĀ a couple hours later you'll likely land at a place like this... (Kingman AZ Airport)...

...you'll probably need your good friend George'sĀ wife to pick you up at the airport and take you back to "The Catt House" where the WRR has been stashed for the last month...

Now pay attention...confidence will be needed....

...because your pilot will likely tell you .....

...in no uncertain terms....

....that there is no way in hell....

...that this thing is going to fit in his plane!!

...butt...

...after applying a good dose of persistence....

...some creative thinking...

...and many swear words....

....well I guess one can make a WRR fit in the back of a Cherokee 6!!!

...but Bill still seems a bit skeptical....

Yup...still back there...

...and what do we have here...?

...and can we consider this mission a success?

It would seem so....

Oh come on man!.... I've got plenty of time to ride it.....how often does one get a chance to fly a bike back in a small plane!!
At any rate, I did get to ride it to and from both airports, the FI system is great and I've got to tell you, the bike is really powerful for "...but it's only a 250..."

Looks just like my WR250F, except for the turn signals & plate, there's no way this bike hit 144, 90 maybe

I can tell you from experience that the speedo on Lil' Blue tops out at 189mph. But that's another story...

Motorcycles and airplanes - two great tastes that taste great together!
BTW, I LOVE my WRR. I call it "The Grin Machine."
Come to think of it, I love my pilot's license, too.
